SGD&R encourages and prepares clients for mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution ("ADR") whenever it is likely to produce the best result and least cost to the client. We are experienced in all forms of ADR, including mediation, arbitration, and pre-suit negotiation, in a variety of forums, including federal and state court, the American Arbitration Association ("AAA"), the National Association of Securities Dealers ("NASD"), the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC"), and the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights ("NJDCR").
The firm's lawyers also act as mediators of a variety of disputes, including employment, commercial, and construction matters. One partner frequently is selected as an NASD arbitrator, and as the chairperson of the arbitrator panel, in arbitrations throughout the country. Three are mediators qualified by the Superior Court of New Jersey pursuant to R.1:40 and one is contracted by the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for one of the most successful mediation programs in the United States. Another is an arbitrator appointed by the court in personal injury litigation, and retained privately in personal injury-related insurance disputes.
