The firm represents Potentially Responsible Parties at hazardous waste sites in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, and negotiates settlements and represents clients in litigation involving the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. We are experienced in handling all phases of environmental cleanups under the Federal Superfund Law (CERCLA), administrative directives under the New Jersey Spill Compensation & Control Act, and lawsuits filed by federal and state agencies. SGD&R also represents clients in non-governmental ("private") litigation of environmental claims relating to contamination, nuisance, cost recovery, and other issues involving the transfer of interests in real property. We handle disputes concerning responsibility for contamination, leaking underground storage tanks, and spills, as well as matters relating to New Jersey's Industrial Site Recovery Act. |
