The plaintiff was in Clifton, New Jersey, when his vehicle was struck from behind and forced to the motor vehicle in front of him.

The plaintiff suffered a closed head injury, resulting in headaches, decreased clarity of thinking, difficulty focusing attention and poor appetite. Additionally, the plaintiff suffered injuries to his cervical and lumbar spines and disruption of the TMJ of the jaw, and underwent extensive medical care for these injuries.  Ultimately, he required spinal fusion surgery for his lower back injuries.

Because the plaintiff's injuries were so extensive and there was limited liability coverage available, the case settled shortly after suit was filed.
