Determining Child Custody
In the best-case scenario, you and the other parent can negotiate a child custody arrangement and parenting schedule out of court through negotiation or mediation. This gives you more control over the outcome, reduces the time and expense, and lessens the stress.
If you are contesting physical custody or parenting time (where the child lives), or legal custody (decision-making authority over the child), and cannot resolve it out of court, a judge or neutral selected arbitrator will determine the outcome.
