Education

Rich Welch brings a diverse experience to his practice. He has served as a high-level tax advisor to large corporations for the accounting and consulting firm of Ernst & Young; was a Supervisory Deputy Attorney General for Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the state of Indiana; was a professor of American law in Beijing, China; and has practiced private commercial litigation for diverse business and personal clients. He earned a BA in American Literature at Duke University, and later graduated cum laude from Duke University law school. In China, Prof. Welch first taught in the Rule of Law LLM program jointly run by Tsinghua University and Temple University School of Law, and then joined the faculty of the law school at Beijing Foreign Studies University. As a commercial litigator, his clients have included national corporations and other businesses and individuals, and his cases have covered a broad variety of legal matters, including civil rights, corporate governance, contract, labor and employment, real estate, intellectual property, bankruptcy, tax defense and estates and trusts.
